Araneta City adds glam to Bb. Pilipinas with augmented reality photo exhibit
Fans of Binibining Pilipinas are in for a treat with the opening of an interactive Glam Shot Photo Exhibit at the Gateway Mall in Araneta City on May 23, 2022.
The mall exhibit showcases the glamorous photos of 40 Binibining Pilipinas 2022 candidates, all shot by Raymond Saldaña and Owen Reyes, in 7-feet-tall installations. The candidates were styled by Justine Aliman, Patrick Henry, and Macky Combe, dressed with ingenious designs by Odelon Simpao and Olie Pabustan, and embellished with accessories by Manny Halasan.
A ceremonial ribbon-cutting was attended by BPCI Executive Committee member and trustee Irene Jose, BPCI Head Gines Enriquez, Araneta City AVP for Marketing Marjorie Go, Saldaña, Reyes, Aliman, and Henry. Binibini Araneta City Francesca Taruc hosted the mini program.
The exhibit was made special as Araneta City uses augmented reality (AR) technology to bring the portraits to life. Exhibit viewers simply need to download the UniteAR app on their smartphones, open the AR camera on the app, and scan the QR code in any of the panels to see the Binibinis in motion as they slay the photoshoot.
After the exhibit opening, the candidates toured the Gateway Gallery in Gateway Mall for a quick course on Philippine history. The Binibinis were introduced to the 30 large history paintings of the gallery's SiningSaysay: Philippine History in Art exhibit, which can also be enjoyed via AR through the Gateway Gallery mobile app.
Araneta City first introduced AR technology in Binibining Pilipinas during the national costume exhibit in 2021. This innovation, along with other digital offerings of the previous Binibini edition, won the Araneta Group its first Anvil Award for PR executions.
The Binibining Pilipinas 2022 Glam Shot Photo Exhibit will be on display at the Gateway Mall until June 10, and will be opened in other Araneta City malls until the grand coronation night. Check out the Araneta City social media pages for details on where to visit this interactive exhibit.
