Araneta City welcomes Cardinal Tagle at Sagrada Familia Church
Araneta City was blessed by the presence of His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle as he presided on September 16 a special Eucharistic celebration at the Sagrada Familia Church, located on top of the New Gateway Mall 2.
Cardinal Tagle was joined by Fr. Ariston Sison Jr., Fr. Ronaldo Santos, Fr. Antonio Labiao Jr., and Fr. Carmelo Caluag in the special service at the brand new church in the City of Firsts. Attending the service are members of the Araneta family, Araneta Group executives, tenants of Araneta City malls, and other invited guests.
Cardinal Tagle also led the blessing of the Sagrada Familia Church altar, a ceremony that marks the readiness of the church to open to the public.
Located at Level 5 of the New Gateway Mall 2, Sagrada Familia Church will provide a welcome spiritual retreat for people from all walks of life. The fully airconditioned mitre-shaped church has an all-white interior, inspired by The Oculus in New York City, and can accommodate up to 1,000 mass-goers.
The church has a high ceiling design, and features a prominent hanging cross created by sculptor Wilfredo Layug.
Cardinal Tagle's visit coincides with the benefit dinner of his TV show The Word Exposed, scheduled on the same day at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
Sagrada Familia Church at the New Gateway Mall 2 will be opened to the public very soon.
